2012 MEMBER EVENT SCHEDULE

 

In 2012 there will be many event offerings for Members of Pheasant Glen to participate in. Some of these events will be supported financially by the Members Event Dues Fund as set out below. The 2012 event structure should provide something for everyone should you choose to participate. A field limit has been set for each event in order to best facilitate the event as well as the golf course.

 

 

Majors

 

Each of the Majors events will be supported financially with $250.00, have a maximum field of 40 players, be a back nine 8:30 shotgun for the Masters, British Open and PGA Championship and a 8:00 crossover for the US Open followed by lunch and PGA Tour player draft. The Draft order will be decided by low to high net score. The Majors are open to men and women and the handicap formula from the Handicap Manual will be used to adjust handicaps due to having competitors playing from different tees. These events will be played on Saturday mornings so entrants can watch their PGA Tour partners on Sunday and cheer them on. Entry for the Majors will be $20 for each event. Scoring will be a combined score of the members 18 hole net score and the final round score of their PGA Tour player. Individual gross and net scores will also be awarded. Individual scores will be paid out in cash on Saturday and team scores will be paid out in gift certificates available at the Golf Shop on Monday.

Mixed Events

 

Each of the Mixed events will be supported financially with $500.00, have a maximum of 72 players, be a front nine 1:00 shotgun followed by dinner, prizes and a 50/50 draw. Each event will have a different scramble format to determine team gross scores and will use the Callaway handicap system to determine team net scores. Entry for each of these events will be $30.00 for members and $60.00 for guests of members. Members will be given priority over guests should the event reach capacity.

 

Spring Mixed Scramble             Date: May 26th

 

Format: holes 1-6 straight scramble, 7-12 Mexican scramble, 13-18 modified scramble

 

Canada Day Scramble             Date: June 30th

 

Format: Holes 1-9 odd holes- players 1 and 3 tee off, even holes players 2 and 4 tee off. Each player must use 2 drives each. All 4 players hit after tee shot is decided. Holes 10-18 wing and string. Each player gets a throw and the team gets a length of string.

 

Fall Scramble                          Date: September 22nd

 

Format: scramble, but player who's shot is chosen can't hit next shot. Odd # holes players 1 and 3 putt and even # holes players 2 and 4 putt only.

 

 

Dutton Cups

 

Open to all Pheasant Glen members with a valid handicap. The Men's and Women's Dutton Cups will be supported financially by $100.00 each. There will be a one day qualifier to determine seeding (based on net score). The qualifier will be followed by lunch and the posting of the draw. Entry will be $20.00.

 

Qualifying date: Saturday, April 21st-8:30 tee times start.

 

Matches: April 22nd-September 15th.

 

 

Club Championship

 

This is the premier stroke play event of the season and will be supported financially by $500.00. Mens and Women's Open, Senior and Super Senior Champions will be crowned. Entry will be $35.00. Parking spots will also be awarded to the Open and Senior Champions. There will be a Past Champions dinner the Friday night before the Championship which is funded by the Member Events Fund and Pheasant Glen.

 

Date: August 18th and 19th

 

Format: Crossover tee times beginning at 11:30am each day. Sunday tee times will be based on Saturdays gross scores. Dinner and awards to follow play Sunday at approx. 5:00pm.

 

 

Tuesday Men's Match Play League

 

The Tuesday Men's League is open to all male members and is a two man team best net ball match play competition with points awarded for front nine, back nine and 18 hole match. The fee is $50.00 per player to the Two Man Team account, each week there is a deuce pot payout and losing teams will put $2.00 into the account which is used for the year end banquet and team prizes. Tee times run between 3:00pm and4:30pm. Members can sign up as teams, singles or put their name on a spare list if they are unable to commit to playing each week.

 

 

Tuesday Women's Club and Wednesday Men's Club

 

These events are open to all men and women members of Pheasant Glen who pay full annual dues. There is an annual fee for each of these Clubs and is payable at the beginning of each season. Both Clubs play weekly games from April to September with weekly prize monies collected and paid out. The last Tuesday (women's) and Wednesday (men's) of each month is a shotgun start followed by lunch.

 

 

Men's Champion of Champions and

Women's Zone 6 Club ChampionsChampionship

 

Each year the Members Event Fund pays the entry of the Mens and Women's Club Champion in the Champion of Champions Event for Men and the Zone 6 Club Champions event for Women. The Men's event is a team event with the Club Professional and is moved around the Province each year. If funds allow, some travel expenses will be reimbursed to each Champion.

 

 

Hole in one pot

 

The Hole in One pot runs from the beginning of the Spring Scramble until the close of the Fall Scramble. Members will pay $5.00 before the start of the Spring Scramble, anyone who has paid $5.00 and scores a Hole in One during the scheduled time will receive a gift certificate from the Hole in One pot. If there are multiple winners they will share the pot equally. If no one is successful there will be 5 names drawn from the registrants in a blind draw for equal amount gift certificates.

 

 

Hole in one photos

 

Any member scoring a Hole in One at Pheasant Glen will receive a photo of the Hole they "aced" with their name, date and hole number on it. The Members Event Fund finances these Hole in One awards.

 

 

Parking Spot Lottery

 

Pheasant Glen Members can pay $10.00 to have their name entered into a draw for a personalized parking spot in the front row of the paved section. Members can enter their name multiple times at a cost of $10.00 for each time. The draw takes place at the Fall Scramble and the Member holds this spot until the following years Fall Scramble. Proceeds from this draw go to the Member Events Fund.
