Pheasant Glen Masters
Although a small field turned out to play in our 2012
Masters event a good time was had by all. George
Schweter led the field after a first day net score of 69.
The contest was a combination of the members net
score and their PGA Tour's players Sunday score at
the Masters. Dennis Finnegan chose Bubba Watson

Pheasant Glen Junior Finishes 2nd at the Braveheart Classic in Beaumont, California
Pheasant Glen Junior Brayden Eriksen is attending Utah Valley
University on a golf scholarship. This past weekend he shot an
opening round 7 under 65 then followed it up with back to back
73's to earn solo 2nd place losing by a single stroke. This was
his best finish of the season and solidifies his spot on the team
that will travel to Connecticut for their Conference Championship.

Completed Bunker Renovations on Hole #16

Over the past couple of weeks we have been working on
upgrading the drainage to the greenside bunkers on
hole #16. As well as fixing the drainage we reshaped
the edges and created a flat bottom which will assist us
in maintenance and provide a better product to play from.
On the left hand side we connected the two bunkers to make one large one with some mounding on the water side. Hopefully this will help keep some golf
balls from finding the water.
New Championship Length
2012 will see the Championship tee yardage stretched to over 6900
yards becoming one of only five golf courses on Vancouver Island to
reach this distance. Construction of new tees on holes #1, #3, #6
and #9 will take place over the next few months and will make three
of the par 5's measure over 570 yards and three par 3's over 200
yards. The forward tee yardage will remain the same but three new
yardages will relace the existing middle and back yardages in order
to offer more choices for our Members and Guests. This is a great
accomplishment as Pheasant Glen will be able to offer one of the
shortest 18 hole yardages at just over 4800 yards and one of the
longest with its new additions.
Play Pheasant Glen in 2012, you won't be dissapointed!!
Luke Donald is World Money Champion

Luke Donald shot 66, 66 over the weekend to finish in a tie for 2nd place at the European Tours final event in Dubai to clinch the money title on both the PGA Tour and European Tour. Although not the longest off the tee, he was the most accurate driver, had the lowest scoring average and had the best putting stats in 2011. He also celebrated the birth of his second daughter a month ago. What a great year!!
DJ Greggory
I saw this story on the Golf Channel and thought you might enjoy it. When it was finished I felt like heading to the tee and playing a round for DJ. The next time I miss a 3 footer I will think of this and head to the next tee with new hope of making birdie! I hope you enjoy it.
